Hello Gardner Families,
As you know, our school has a Stop & Drop program that allows children to be dropped off at school and safely attended to as they exit their car.
We can no longer staff this program with school employees and therefore we need your help in order to keep this program running and keep our children safe.
We are asking families to volunteer to work just one week (5 shifts) out of the whole school year, from 7:45 - 8:20 a.m. Six volunteers are needed each day to assist students with safely exiting vehicles and getting to school. Don’t worry, there will be some veteran volunteers to help you out!
Sign up is easy, just click here. Each month has been assigned to a specific grade (e.g., January assigned to 2nd grade parents, February to 3rd grade parents, etc). Volunteering can be a great way to get to know other parents in your child's grade and the greater Gardner community. Volunteering less than 3 hours per school year will help make morning drop off safer for all students!
And when using Stop & Drop to drop off your child, please remember:
- Follow the attendants' directions.
- Stay in your car - attendants will help open doors and escort kids from your car.
- Have your kids ready to leave the car to keep the line running smoothly. Backpacks, lunch boxes and/or lunch money should be in hand before pulling into the drop off line.
- Have your kids exit from the right side of the car - it is quicker and prevents them from having to walk in front of traffic.
Thank you for volunteering your time to help our community.
