At Gardner Street, we know that physical education plays a vital role in students' growth and development and that students who participate in regular physical activities do better academically, socially, and emotionally. Gardner students meet once a week for regular PE, which includes traditional sports and games. And in addition, they meet weekly for psychomotor — where cognitive functions are combined with physical movement, to achieve better coordination, dexterity, strength and speed, all according to their age and developmental abilities.

Physical education is run by Got Game Sports, a local LA program that mixes traditional sports and original games, all designed to align with the state's PE standards and develop individual skills in a fun way. Students get their heart rates up, learn to enjoy an active lifestyle and the importance of good health, while working with a variety of sports gear. Coached with an emphasis on participation and teamwork, kids have an opportunity to excel in a supportive and positive environment.
